TRANSJUGULAR INTRAHEPATIC
PORTOSYSTEMIC SHUNT (TIPS) PROCEDURE
USING THE ANGIODYNAMICS TRANSJUGULAR LIVER ACCESS SET
A TIPS procedure involves placing a shunt in the liver
between the hepatic and portal veins. This relieves
the pressure on the portal system and is a last ditch
effort to resolve bleeding complications often encountered
in end-stage liver failure. The procedure starts with
an internal jugular vein approach to the hepatic vein.

- 20cc Syringe
- 1cc Syringe
- Hemostasis Y-Adapter
- Dual Check Valve

- 21 Gauge Needle
- 14 Gauge Needle
- 12 French Catheter with 8 French Internal Diameter
- 8 French Curved Catheter
- 5 French Straight Catheter
The set features:
- A blunt Ross Needle that cannot cut or sever catheters and guidewires
- A 21 gauge needle for minimizing the damage to the liver while probing for the portal vein
- Complete valve mechanisms for contrast delivery
